Strawberry Cream Cold Latte (Printable)

Sweet strawberries blend with cold milk and cream for a luscious, cooling beverage perfect for hot days.

# What You'll Need:

→ Strawberry Base

01 - 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
02 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
03 - 2 tablespoons water

→ Milk & Cream

04 - 1 cup cold whole milk
05 - 1/4 cup heavy cream

→ Coffee

06 - 1/2 cup cold brewed espresso or strong brewed coffee, cooled

→ To Serve

07 - 1/2 cup ice cubes
08 - Whipped cream, for topping (optional)
09 - Fresh strawberries, for garnish (optional)

# Steps:

01 - Combine strawberries, sugar, and water in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl. Heat gently for 2-3 minutes until strawberries soften and release their juices. Let cool completely, then blend until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve if you prefer a seedless puree.
02 - In a shaker or large glass, combine the cooled strawberry puree, cold milk, and heavy cream. Stir vigorously until fully incorporated and smooth.
03 - Divide ice cubes evenly between two tall glasses. Pour the strawberry cream mixture over the ice, splitting evenly between glasses.
04 - Slowly pour the cold brewed espresso or coffee over the back of a spoon held just above the strawberry cream layer to create a beautiful marbled effect.
05 - Top with whipped cream if desired and garnish with fresh strawberry slices. Serve immediately while chilled.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The strawberry puree stains the milk in the most beautiful way, like a sunset in a glass
  • It comes together in ten minutes flat but looks like you labored over it
02 -
  • Hot coffee will instantly melt the cream and make the drink taste flat, so absolutely must let it cool completely first
  • The strawberry puree keeps in the refrigerator for three days, which means you can make these on repeat all week long
03 -
  • Cold brew coffee works better here than hot-brewed coffee that has been chilled, since it has a smoother flavor that does not compete with the delicate strawberry notes
  • If your strawberries are not very sweet, add an extra teaspoon of sugar during the cooking phase rather than trying to adjust it later
